If you are over 40 years old and have not had a Blood Pressure check within the last 5 years, please book an appointment with our healthcare assistant. 

Minor Injury Units are based at Camborne/ Redruth Hospital and Helston Community Hospital.

Camborne/Redruth Community Hospital is a Minor injuries and Illness Service, its open from 8am to 10pm seven days a week, including bank holidays. An Xray service is also available from 9am to 8pm, Monday to Friday; and noon to 6pm Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays. You don't need to book a appointment  and parking is free.

The West Cornwall Urgent Care Centre based at West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance offers Doctor cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week  and treats the following conditions:

1. Minor Burns, scalds and injuries.

2. Simple fractures (legs, arms, ankles and wrists). 3. Cuts which require stitching.

4. Chest and urinary infections.

5. Minor falls.

Appointments
The practice strives to meet the needs of all patients. All consultations are by appointment. We offer a mix of appointments, some bookable two weeks in advance, some available 48 hours and 24 hours in advance and we also have appointments available on the day.

We also offer an Extended Hours Service especially for patients who are unable to attend during our normal surgery opening times.  Appointments with a Doctor or Practice Nurse are available from 18.30 pm until 19.45 pm on  Tuesdays each week, at Praze.  All evening appointments must be booked in advance by telephone or in person during our normal opening hours..

Home Visits
Where possible please try to come to the surgery. If you know you are going to need a visit please telephone in the morning. You will be asked to give a short explanation of the problem so that the doctor can be notified and decide how urgent your request is.

Our practice nurses are vocationally trained and receive regular updates. They see patients by appointment only and are involved in health screening programmes as well as running their own clinics for disease management. They are also available for vaccinations and holiday advice. ECGs and blood pressure checks, some wound dressings and ear syringing.

Healthcare Assistants

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide the best possible healthcare to our patients some of our staff are being trained as health care assistants. They will provide routine checks including BP checks, ECGs, weight reduction help and advice, well woman, man and healthy lifestyle checks and health education.

Phlebotomists

Clinics are held for the taking of blood samples as requested by a doctor or practice nurse. You will normally be notified of any problems. If you wish to telephone for your result please allow a week and telephone the enquiries line after 2.00pm
