If you are over 40 years old and have not had a Blood Pressure check within the last 5 years, please book an appointment with our healthcare assistant. 

Minor Injury Units are based at Camborne/ Redruth Hospital and Helston Community Hospital.

Camborne/Redruth Community Hospital is a Minor injuries and Illness Service, its open from 8am to 10pm seven days a week, including bank holidays. An Xray service is also available from 9am to 8pm, Monday to Friday; and noon to 6pm Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays. You don't need to book a appointment  and parking is free.

The West Cornwall Urgent Care Centre based at West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance offers Doctor cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week  and treats the following conditions:

1. Minor Burns, scalds and injuries.

2. Simple fractures (legs, arms, ankles and wrists). 3. Cuts which require stitching.

4. Chest and urinary infections.

5. Minor falls.

Appointments
The practice strives to meet the needs of all patients. All consultations are by appointment. We offer a mix of appointments, some bookable two weeks in advance, some available 48 hours and 24 hours in advance and we also have appointments available on the day.

We also offer an Extended Hours Service especially for patients who are unable to attend during our normal surgery opening times.  Appointments with a Doctor or Practice Nurse are available from 18.30 pm until 19.45 pm on  Tuesdays each week, at Praze.  All evening appointments must be booked in advance by telephone or in person during our normal opening hours..

Home Visits
Where possible please try to come to the surgery. If you know you are going to need a visit please telephone in the morning. You will be asked to give a short explanation of the problem so that the doctor can be notified and decide how urgent your request is.

Online Booking

Please be aware - when placing a prescription order or booking an appointment online, confirmation emails are no longer sent. The time frame for the processing of prescriptions has not changed: prescriptions are usually ready for collection 2 working days after receiving the request.

A Patients Guide - Registering

Step 1 – Provide your email address and ID

We require your email address and proof of identity.

 

The following are our accepted forms of ID:

Passport

Birth Certificate

Driving Licence

National ID Card

Marriage Certificate

Bank Statement

 

Step 2 – Verify your email address

Within a few working days you should receive an Email Verification request. You have 48 hours to click the link in the email and follow the instructions to verify the email address.

 

Step 3 – Account activation codes

You will receive another email with three pieces of information that are needed when creating your account.

 

Step 4 – Register online

Go to www.thewaiting-room.net and with the three pieces of information from Step 3 you can complete the registration process.

Initially a relatively small number of doctors appointments will be available for online booking. If there isn't a suitable appointment time for you, there is likely to be others available by calling the surgery. Please provide feedback with the sort of appointments and times that you would like to see available online.

In the future we may offer other types of appointments, including nurse appointments and seasonal flu vaccine appointments.
